“God gives the hardest battles to His toughest soldiers.”
This statement was from ate Mae Lann, one of my growth team leaders. From then on, I always tell it to myself whenever I am on the verge of breaking.
Life’s trials are too familiar for me. I have seen them a hundred times already. They are oftentimes, fleeting but there are times they could last more than I would ever know they’re over. They give scars, lessons and most importantly they strengthen my faith.
Trusting God is never easy because we are created finite. We just cannot understand. We cannot fathom His ways. But I learned that trusting the Lord in moments when we don’t know what to do and we don’t know where to go is submitting to the Hands who hold the universe. We just have to stand still. After all, the battle is not for us, it is God’s.
The Lord Jesus Christ conquered the cross because He knew we couldn’t take it. He knew we cannot make it and He knew we couldn’t save ourselves. God also knew that we cannot overcome our trials by just carrying all the burdens. If Jesus could carry our sins on the calvary for our sake how couldn’t He carry our hardships with Him? Remember when Jesus was mocked, accused, persecuted, and crucified?
It is us who must die on the cross for our sins; instead, we are here trying to feel better from a situation. The battle may seem very tough because maybe we are just not yet too faithful to trust Him. God gives the hardest battles to His toughest soldiers but God gives the victory to His faithful children.
